About This Project
A bright future should never be lost because of financial hardship.
Syed Saad Abdullah, a talented and hardworking student from Bangladesh, has earned admission to a reputed engineering university in Bangladesh for the 2025–2026 session, securing an outstanding 35th position in the merit list. For most students, this achievement would be a moment of celebration. But for Saad and his family, it has become a heartbreaking struggle between hope and uncertainty.
Saad is the eldest son in a family of five. His father once worked as a Training Officer in a UNDP project and later tried to rebuild the family’s life through a small pharmaceutical business with partners. Unfortunately, due to financial fraud and loan complications, the business collapsed, leaving the family burdened with more than BDT 3.5 crore in debt. The other partners disappeared, and the entire liability fell on Saad’s father.
The family lost their stability, their home, and their source of income. During this difficult time, Saad’s younger brother was diagnosed with a serious kidney illness, while his younger sister had to be placed under the care of a compassionate school teacher because the family could no longer support her properly.
Despite these overwhelming hardships, Saad did not give up.
While carrying the burden of his family’s survival, he worked as a tutor for children and as a shop salesman to provide daily necessities. Because of these responsibilities, he could not properly prepare for university admission tests and could not even afford application fees for many universities.
Yet through determination, sacrifice, and extraordinary resilience, Saad achieved an exceptional admission result and secured his place in one of the country’s respected engineering institutions.
Today, Saad and his family are struggling to arrange the financial support necessary not only for his admission, but also for his long-term educational journey. To truly secure his future, a one-time support fund is needed that can cover his tuition, living expenses, accommodation, educational materials, and essential costs throughout his undergraduate years. With partial scholarships and careful financial planning, this support can help Saad remain focused on his studies until graduation without the constant fear of dropping out due to poverty.
This is not simply about helping one student enter university. It is about protecting the dream of a deserving young man who has continued to fight despite impossible circumstances. Education can become the turning point that helps his entire family regain stability, dignity, and hope for the future.
At Lighthouse, we believe education should never be limited by financial hardship. We stand beside students from all backgrounds who demonstrate talent, resilience, and determination. By supporting Saad, we are collectively investing in the power of education to transform lives and uplift families.
We humbly request everyone to come forward and support Saad in this critical moment. No contribution is too small. Every donation brings him one step closer to completing his education and building a better future for himself and his family.
May Allah reward all those who extend their support and kindness to a deserving student in need.
